GM cannot disable AFM because it is an fuel eco product, making the truck less efficient in theory. The only reason I want to disable the AFM is to prevent this same problem in the future. The V4-V8 sound isn't too bad and if it didn't cause trouble I would not even consider any sort of tune.

I disabled AFM on my 08 via tuner. With the AFM it averaged 16.5 mpg and burned a qt in 3,000 miles . With the AFM off it averages just over 15 mpg and burns no oil between changes. The mpg number is thrown off a little bit because I dont drive it to work everyday anymore, short trips a lot.
