622. Oct 3, 2020. #1. I have had an opportunity to thoroughly RANGE test the CVA wolf. I'd like to give my final assessment after dealing with some issues. The overall construction. and look of this budget riffle is impressive. Everything is nice and tight and the seams are very tight. It looks sleek and modern the plastic used is not feel cheap.
I have an optima v2 with the nitride barrel. It came with iron sights, but was drilled and and tapped for a scope mount. I would go that route and get a better scope than one in the package deal. I agree the Optima V2 is the best value. It shoots just as accurate as the Accura rifles. The CVA rifles are not real load picky and will shoot a variety of loads accurately. However, in my opinion, the opening/closing latch on the Optima V2 is a way more better than the latch on the Wolf. My choice would be the Optima V2, because of the latch mechanism.2 . Parts of the trigger assembly are plastic. The breech plug is no where near as good as the CVA BH209 plug and seals worse that either QRBP. Upper end CVAs have adjustable triggers too. Traditions offers nothing that competes well against a Optima V2 for under $300. You get less for your money. Well that settles it!
