JHP, FMJ - if the ammo is right (i.e., not reloads with a "Glock bulge") they shoot. Until I went to a Wilson EDC X9, the Vigil was my daily carry.It's always been flawless to shoot, but today had failure to feed on three different types of ammo and all 4 magazines. I noticed on all magazines (2 Dan Wesson, 2 Wilson Combat) a looser fit when the magazine was loaded vs. it being empty. I was paying attention to the magazines, because this was the first trip with the new WC mags.

I have multiple Colts, two Ed Browns and two Dan Wessons, a 9mm Guardian and CCO. The next 1911 I buy will be a Wesson V-Bob if that tells you anything. Love my Browns but no way a bobtail Brown is worth $1000 more than a V-Bob. All of my recent Colts have been sent off for "improvements" as was a Les Baer.So, for the price of a nicely equipped Standard Production 1911, Dan Wesson gives you an entry-level quality semi-custom 1911.
