Thoreau just seems so out of touch with reality. I think this book should be replaced with more diverse options in the canon. Two stars for Walden. But I've read Civil Disobedience in the past and remember really liking it and being impressed with the writing, so I exclude that from this rating. Haven't read his other writings.
