On a 24" bar with a 4+hp saw they don't hold up real well in the tough cutting. Fine for softwood. I will keep using them on the smaller saws.The 260 is a BB compared to the 026; 44.7mm vs 44mm. This saw was new when I first used it on this tree and in my humble opinion the Echo was worth it's weight in gold. Some specs of interest. The model # is CS-440 it has a 45 cc motor and an 18" bar.

The Sugihara bars have advantages, and disadvantages. They oil quite well and wear slowly. The large-mount bars work especially well on Stihl compared to Husky and others, since the bar slots are cut for Stihl (the others need to use spacers, which adds an insignificant bit of looseness).

Is it really running perfectly at high speed - to check, find out how many turns out the H screw is, it should be around 1. You should at least get it pressure checked, then maybe change the L screw, but may be safer/quicker to get a new carb.

That saw was last produced around 2008 and represents the last actual pro model saw that Poulan ever produced. It is 54cc and far superior to anything else built in that class such as MS290 and 455 Rancher. It has split cases, adjustable oiler, and very solid construction. Do a muffler mod and that is all it needs to be a really good firewood saw.filter not great. pros: very torquey for 89cc (long stroke) parts easy to get (still made in brazil, PH is TS510, just stopped production) very well made. Husky 550XP is a good saw but Husqvarna is having issues with supplying parts. Echo makes a good saw as well, believe the 4910 is still available but that saw really needs muffler work to realize it's full potential. The echos are hard to beat for the price.
